It all began 40 years ago, in a small shoes factory located in a Small Street in Tel-Aviv where a visionary worked. Through the workdays in the factory, he dreamt about cranes.. The opportunity wasn't late. Next to the shoes factory was located a small business for cranes rental named - HATIQVA MANOF. When one of the business partners died, they invited the shoemaker young helper, which his acquaintance with heavy equipment and vehicles was in the army, to join them as a partner. The visionary's father suffered disappointment when he realized that his son is not going to continue his life work. In the following years the son learnt the field's secrets, gained experience, and at last in 1972 established his own business. Within few years only, he turned his small crane rental company to the largest in Israel. This visionary name is - AVI YOCHANAN, The Empire he built is - AVI CRANES. The company started as a small business with few working hands. The growth of the company is characterized by several major turning points: - The evacuation of the Sinai Peninsula in 1982, conveying I.D.F bases to the new borderlines. - Working for the Israeli Air Force, placing encoded communication lines. That was the first time Avi Cranes involved in other fields besides cranes. - Through out the years Avi's brother Ilan, became his right hand and a partner. Ilan operated the cranes and fixed the vehicles on the work sites. When the company grew, a workshop was built and Ilan became the workshop manager and he is responsible of the machines maintenance in all aspects. - In 1987 the company realized the innovative cranes technology manufactured in Germany and was the first to import this technology to Israel. Avi Cranes bought its first Liebherr crane type LT 1300. We now own over 50 Liebherr cranes and innovative cranes of other manufacturers. - Working for the port authorities, Avi Cranes bought in 1994 a crawler crane Demag CC1000, which was the first crawler crane in Israel. This crane opened new opportunities for the company to compete in international tenders and large-scale projects. Now Avi Cranes has several Crawler cranes up to 1000 ton lifting capacity. - In 1997 Intel Built it's new FAB in Qiryat-Gat, Avi Cranes was the awarding company to supply all carnage and access platforms in this project. During the project we provided 12 cranes worked simultaneous and 120 access platforms of different types. Since then Avi Cranes developed it access platform department and now owns over 350 machines in its rental fleet. - Seeing the need in our own workshop, we purchased real estates for this purpose. In view of the potential in real estates, larger lands were bought and commercial centers were built for rentals. Avi Cranes is always developing and prospering and is in constant modernization. Avi cranes is the largest crane rental company in Israel. In the last recent years Avi Cranes is rated among the top 50 largest crane companies in the world. Although the company has expanded, we try to grant the best, advanced, high level of service and best quality to our customers.
